Is this the worlds oldest known treasure Map?

The Dead Sea scrolls after many years are finally giving up thier secrets and amazing the world about the life of the Qumran community. Two such scrolls that were found in cave number three was made of a copper alloy.

After careful conservation the copper roles were carefully unroled and reveled themselves to be ancient directions to lost treasure buried in various locations around the Holy land.

The copper scrolls were the only non religious document recovered from the writings of the Qumran community. The Scrolls turned out to be a treasure hunters dream. A guide to more than 60 hiding places of buried treasure.

Over 3000 talents of silver, 1300 talents of gold, 65 bars of gold, 608 pitchers of silver and 619 gold and gold vessels. In modern terms 65 tons of silver and 26 tons of gold.

However the Copper scrolls have not fully given up thier secrets as like any treasure directions. There is always seem to be some important clues missing or incomplete. The scrolls tells of treasure buried in tombs, cisterns, canals and underground passages around the countryside.

The Scrolls mentions some names and places that have long since vanished in 2000 years. Another problem is the exact translation of the documents. The 2 most scholarly translations were made by J T Milik and J. M Allegro. However they differ in interperation of the scrolls.

Here is an example of this is as follows

J.T Milik translation: At Horebbeh which is in the valley of Achor, under the steps which go eastward. Dig forty cubits: a chest full of silver weighing altogether seventy talents.

J.M. Allegro translation: In the fortress which is in the vale of Achor, forty cubits under the steps entering to the east: a money chest and contents of a weight of seventy talents.

With slight differences in translation and names of places no longer used has made the directions open to many speculations.

Some names of places are still in use after 2000 odd years. In paragraph 49 of one of the copper scrolls:  Mentions that there is 80 talents buried at 12 cubits on the western side of the monument of Absolom.

Strange enough there is on the road from Jerualem to Jericho, on the left hand side of the road there is a tomb known as " Absalom's Tomb" still in existance today.

It makes you wonder what has been recovered and what lies still buried in the land of many mysteries. A land inwhich is still having blood spilt over it even today.

If only I had learned Qumran and owned a bullet proof vest!  Grin

You made an interesting point about the dead sea scrolls and that was the different ways in which they are translated and read.
Did you know that J.F.Champollion at the age of 22 is believed to have been able to read the heiroglyphics left on many temples in Egypt.  He used several languages in order to do that, does something sound odd or strange?
Question yourself why would any culture or race would combine several languages in order for thier history and culture they left behind for others to read?  Sounds a bit bizarre to me as it did Alan Wilson and Baram Blackett.
They used the Ancient Coelbren alphabet on the Heiroglyphs and were suprised when they got perfectly readable and understandable translations including dates of events.
They were so impressed that they decided to write a book about it in order that others should know how to use the coelbren alphabet to do the same for anyone.
Think of this if Champollion got it wrong, then every Historian, Archaeologist, Egyptologist or student who uses Champollians method of translation will get it wrong too.
This has been going on for years and you can imagine what a fine mess these so called experts have made of the histories with the mistakes they made in the past too.
Im not here to sell books but Moses in the heiroglyphs is a brilliant book if you want to get a better understanding of the importance of the Coelbren Alpabet.
The alphabet which translates hundreds of memorial stones found in Wales also does the same thing for many stones that have been found on the migration trails going back to 1600 B.C.
The English Establishment did everything in thier power to destroy Welsh history including thier alphabet, culture, and knowledge.
What happened in 1600 BC?  The first migration into Britain and guess who were the migrants?  None other than the ten lost tribes of Isreal who were never lost and knew exactly where they were and what they were doing.
So you can blame Oxford and Cambridge Universities for this together with the English Monarch who continues to allow this to happen and the Roman Catholic Church who has much to hide in order to remain credible.
