Willy-
How do I say this nicely, ahem, please, don't tell me, tell these other guys... I've had to design my own PPM on any data I could dredge up,  over the last 2 yrs... data is scarce.

I latched a PDF, couple days ago that tells me some of the "experts" I have been listening to, are full of hot air. It was from a university, about their pet project and more info than I NEED!
It has lead me to realize I have to go back to the drawing board, not serious, but necessary changes. Good job it wasn't built, it would have meant retrofitting. Ha.

Yes I know these differences, but PPM is simpler for me and for "claim" surveying, PPM is fast enough. I only need 2 meter to 10 meter "shots," with GPS , what's worse is GPS is not accurate enough for 2 m.

I have 3 "cell" claims to survey, this summer... if they don't prove out, they get  dropped.

Home-made flux-gate magnetometer

Yes. I made a flux-gate magnetometer and use it daily looking for evidence of metal on sunken steamboats in the OLD Missouri river system. "Old" because I look in the dry channels which are now usually corn or bean fields. I have found more than a dozen boats and will be drilling for two later this month.
I built one and use it daily. I have not only found sunken steamboats (river) but I will be drilling this weekend on two sites. I'll share information with serious hunters.
