Hi every one
my metal detector doesn't work . It's Laminous 15000
I found that this " Metal can package IC " doesn't have any voltage
I'm sure it burns...
But I have no clue what it is.
Manufacturers clear the part number of this IC
this is the image of it :

Do you see any power getting to the chip?

check on pins, 1,4 , 8 or 7?

Well it's most likely a OP Amp of a sort.

Can you post a clear photo of the surrounding components?

Trace out the circuit it is used in?

Do you have any more of the schematic?

Your chip is pinned out and being used like a LM709 Op Amp could be used.

No it's not pinned out
This is the complete schismatic of this IC

For sure it's an op amp
ST is manufacturer of this op amp...
and I'm sure it looks like LM709
Can you guess what's that?

I am all but sure that is what it is.

Looks to be doing the Oscillator thing but I don't know what for.

Need more info.

GD has more info on this for sure but that is what I have to say.

For certain it's NOT an LM709 because pin 4 cannot float in an LM709. Because the number is scratched off the original, the device is a mystery part.

GD, Pin 4 is not floating on his schematic.   709 like to go toast if both inputs are not locked in some place .   His pin 2 seems to be floating and may be why it toasted.

Looks to be only used as a Osc.   With pin two floating and in a IC SOCKET open leg like it was, RFI or EMF could have POPed it real easy.

LM709 were sucky to start with.

GD, Pin 4 is not floating on his schematic.

There is no ground on pin 4 which is required for it to operate. Since it is tied to a capacitor, it IS floating.
