Thank you Cornelius, but this logger is a stand-alone gradiometer or just the part to link to the Moreland mag ?

I built one of those last year. It was real easy to build and it is extremely sensitive. I can pick up my barbeque grill from 20' away!

Salvor6, have you used this in the ocean yet? If so, how did it work and what is your assessment of it's capabilities? Appreciate any feedback you can give. Thanks.

As it is a Fluxgate Sensor I think it is not your best choice for underwater operations. I would recommend a Proton Magnetometer for this purpose instead.

Best wishes,

Christian

A data logger keeps track of events over a period of time storing the results in memory in digital format. It's not a real time instrument and would not likely be any use when used with a magnetometer unless you wanted to log data against a map database over a piece of land. That sort of thing is beyond the capability of your data logger. Sorry.

It's all about that moment when metal that hasn't seen the light of day for generations frees itself from the soil and presents itself to me.
