Try the EPE Magazine site, and download the articles you need. If you do not have the address, do a Google search for EPE magazine.

To download from this forum, you need 15 posts, each, and I only count 11 between you!  Grin

Until then, I really shoulld not be giving you any schematics, but I guess written advice is OK.

Post more! It really does not take long, especially if you find sometime really interesting to post about, LIKE: I posted some Google Earth photos, in the *Lost Cities of the Kalahari,* some of those photos are taken on the east border of Iran, just into Afghanistan, some in northern Afghanistan.... If any, or all of you, are in Iran, you might find this interesting and you may like to look for something, in your area. My other posted pictures are on the Silk Road, in China,s Takla Makan Desert.

It is amazing what will show, on Google Earth, that you can not see from the ground.

Do you have any ancient ruins in your area? Photos are always appreciated.

Hi;

Go to the Honeywell site, you will find a diagram for a 3 IC gradiometer that anyone can build IF you can get the HMC1001 IC.... it just takes two of those and an LM324 or three TL081 op amps (they need a split power supply) but LM741s are too noisy.

Just a suggestion.

Unlike other detectors, a magnetometer will detect a signal all the way to the sun if it is big enough. Do you have any idea how they work?

Thus, the detection distance in that example is around 93,000,000,000 miles or thereabouts.

For the interested, the project is in Everyday Practical Electronics July 2004, pages 32-39 and August 2004, pages 27-31. Both can be purchased in digital format from EPE.

It's all about that moment when metal that hasn't seen the light of day for generations frees itself from the soil and presents itself to me.
