golddigger i know they are not made by boys/girls scout and no the site is not in oz. there are alot of signs in the area. i have attached some more to this post so you can see.

Hi to every one.....I'm new on this forum....I studied those pictures....those were taken near a river that having a Y- formation?....a possible treasure trail....IMHO

Thanks Creolegirl for the updated pictures. I see what you mean now. Those were not visible in previous shots. The asterisk symbol is used as a trail demarcation to indicate s path not to follow but no necessarily dangerous. The rest are not scout symbols so you are probably right. This is intriguing. When you get it sorted, be sure to report what they meant. Good luck.

Before trying to decipher the meanings of the signs, the prudent person would first make sure that the signs are not freshly-made.

I am a retired surveyor. In surveying,

{alt} means to set up instrument

{alt} means to triangulate, or triangulation sation

{alt} means survey point

If I were to read those signs as a surveyor,
and in the order of the photos,
it would say,

" as we traversed to the survey point, we
killed a snake with a machete and set up our
instrument"

thanks tabdog and hobbyist I have already checked to see if they were freshly made and there not. the markings are atleast 250 yrs old. i have had them analised. thats the first thing i did to make sure that they were real signs and not fake. there are alot of signs and symbols that are in the area not just the ones i have posted.
