They say the oldest occupation is prostitution.

I contend it is surveying.

They had to have a place to go.

If they had a place of their own,

they surveyed it first, and then

went and got um a prostitute.

Surveying is so old, it is intertwined

in treasure signes.

They are almost one in the same,

if you think about it.

Is land not the biggest treasure?

Maybe, maybe not?

Happy Huntin,

Tabdog

Hmm. No reply from creolegirl. I'm still curious as to how those engravings were analysed for their age.

hey hobbist my mother brought a realtive to the site who specialises in that sort of stuff. Not sure what they call them selves but that's his job. He also analised the signiture of the pirate which is at the site and said it was definately his signiture. i cant mention the name of the pirate at this stage as we are still working at the site. but it is a well know pirate from the 17th century.

Hi Creolegirl. Thank you for replying. I wish you could tell me of the methods used to analyse the age of the engravings; it's rather important to me and I'll tell you why.
Some people are attempting to scam a group of foreigners. They have shown the foreigners some "WW2 treasure signs" engraved on some rocks. I have frequented the area where the rocks are, and I know for a fact that 6 months ago, no such engravings were on those same rocks. If you (or anyone else) can get me the info needed, you will be helping to prevent a scam and knock some sense into some people who have let greed and gold fever control their brain. Thank you.

i understand where ur coming from but my mums rel isnt like that. we trust him and when you look at our site you can tell its not fake. we have been researching there for over 4 years now. Hopefully by the end of the year we will have it out. The pirate was very clever. we have come across alot of death traps and inundated with water. we have had to put it on hold so many times due to weather. But know hopefully everything will go well.

No, creolegirl, you do not understand where I'm coming from. My request for info on the method of determining the age of the engravings has nothing to do with you, your mom or your site. Kindly re-read my last post, and if you are able to tell me what methods were used to date the engravings, I would be grateful. Thank you.

tabdog;

I think you are probably wrong, surveying is an invention of civilization. Only the second oldest!  Wise

Hunter-gatherers used metes and bounds, yes, but for ALL the land, not parcels. They believed an individual could not own the land, it was held by the group, clan, or family.

The Iroquois/Mohawk/Cherokee, had matrilinial societies, similar to west coast (central to north,) and Wales, where the women inherit and held the land titles, while THEIR families hunted and cared for these lands. The men only held political titles. Only the west coast Dene groups and northern interior (Dene,) as far as I know, had so called parcels of land and they definately were described by metes and bounds. Also, their Rights are passed on, from mother to daughter or niece, if no daughters.

But not all N.Am. natives followed this practice. Some sold their daughters for a stack of blankets or a nice horse, like my great grandfather wanted to sell  my grandmother to my grandfather..... for some land.... which he had already sold to my great great grandfather.... my great grand fathers father. Sly trick.

Some recent native lands claims, court cases, in BC, were won on the basis of traditional, historical metes and bounds claims. Specifically, the Gitskan-Wesewitan and the Nisga.

Surveyors, in the UK, mostly only surveyed trails and roads, to begin with, also known as the Dodmen.

Basically, the natives did not have to survey, it was pre-described, by God made objects.
I think surveying was an invention of those dratted, pesky, Romans (or the Norman invaders of England.)  Funny

Romans had plumb bobs to use, made from plumbum (lead.)  Coffee

When these old boys got to surveying, they figgered they owned the whole (known) world, hence all these nice coins and things, all over Europe, were lost by Roman surveyors.

Good theory, aint it?

goldigger (Brian)

This is a bit harsh, mate. Suffice it to say, relative or not, she had an expert look at the signs and confirm the age. You can always hire your own expert to look at your signs. Easy!
