I have looked everywhere to find maps in Utah, Colorado, Arizona, and New Mexico for old maps showing rail roads. Locations.  On my topo maps at places I can find places that say old railroad grade, but does anyone know of a web site that I can look at old railroad maps?

Many thanks for the info.  I was up until 2:00 am looking for a detailed map of older rail roads, but all i could find are newer lines in service or others that really didnt give me detail.
As a side note on one of the maps I was looking at work... yes my boss thought i was working.. jajajja....  I noticed that one reference point I had been searching for was located on one of the maps.  On my TOPO maps it showed it in a different location almost 90 miles apart so in my research I was really confused because I was tracing a route and it made no sense to go 90 miles out of their way, but on this older map it showed the location right where I would of assumed it would be.
Im a man of my word... If I find something, I'll send you one of the items i find.  Its going to take some time to get the exact location but at least Im within a 50 miles radius....... yes a pin in a haystack but hey,  hopefully with a little more time and LUCK..... maybe I can spend a month looking and the expenses and come up with small stash of 20 coins if I'm lucky..........  yes.. my wife doesn't understand the logic of spending all this money and time to find something small.. but as I tell her...Its cheaper than a girl friend... LOL....  Really thanks for the info.

For one thing, ghost towns not on current roads.   And even outside the ghost towns, you'd be surprised what you can find at places like old waterstops.  There are a lot of nice buttons, tokens, and even coins that can be found when you follow the tracks.  (not to mention some nice bottles and if you're really luck an intact glass insulator or two).

long delay in getting back here on line.  I was looking at the rail road route when searching and researching the Reynolds Gang as well as a train holdup on the Colorado/Utah border. While out on of of my trips I located a place that in todays view looked interesting and wanted to see where the rail road was in relation to this site on the border.
