Seldom whats your theory with Oak Island? ?

Here is what I said about it awhile back and still believe it to be true

After the Woods Hole survey most researchers believe that the wood and fiber along with dirt washed in during storms and I pretty much agree with that.
I also have a big problem with the stone table that Ranville and others puts so much faith it. It was found in the early 1900's lost found again then lost for ever around 1919 , then all of a sudden a copy of the code appears in 1970. I think not, sounds like the Kidd maps.
Also another thing that I have thought weird is how close the beginning of the Oak Island story resembles Edgar Allen Poe's short story "The Gold Bug".
This initial discovery and excavation was first briefly mentioned in print in the Liverpool Transcript in October, 1856. A more complete account followed in the Liverpool Transcript, the Novascotian, British Colonist,[8] and A History Of Lunenburg County (the latter source based on the Liverpool Transcript articles). So 20 years after Poes short was published the OI story shows up.[/quote]

I thought there was supposed to be a wooden floor at every 10 feet or so. Also coconut fiber ??
To dig down to 20 ft and find a wooden floor one must question what is down there? Who would build such a thing...

This is one of the reasons why diaries and journals are so valuable to a person looking for a hidden treasure as opposed to a lost treasure.

BA giving away all my secrets today. But he is so right  diaries and journals help us get into the mine of the person or persons who wrote them.

As for Oak Island everything can be explained with a little common sense and applied logic.

 HI All
BA, I went to the Oak Island link and went over page1. Now the boys there started to dig because of the ground depression and mark's in the tree branch above the depression. A logical place to dig & hope for some treasure.
If the pit wasn't built for treasure, then what ?

Think sink whole in the making.   Anywhere you have porous rocks (like limestone caves) or even lava tubes that enter into the ocean and can be eroded by wave action, you have perfect conditions for subsidence -- and in extreme conditions, complete cave-in down to the level of the underlying cavity (assuming the cavity is deep enough to swallow the overlying burden...otherwise, you just get a depression).    Once again logic and a knowledge of geology explains how the depression could be there.   As for the supposed marks in the tree limb there are lots of possible explanations for that including lynchings if you want a non-natural possibility.

It was a sink hole and over 100's if not 1000's of years floods etc washed wood soil rock shell etc fulling the hole. The only thing that can not be explained with science or common sense is the marks on the tree and considering only a hand full of people ever saw it who knows wishful thinking. As for trees every 10 ft remember this was not a scientific dig no records are measurements were keep, and the story floated around for what 60 years before anything was wrote down about it.

OK So natural sink hole theory. I hadn't heard of this before.
I prefer the idea of it being man made, it makes it a lot more interesting and mysterious  Cool

Seldom"  Was so annoyed, posted reply in wrong section but...you'll find it and give your take.  You burst my bubble along with many others I try to help in life.  Those others are  quote : "armchair treasure hunters" and it can't be helped due to being disabled.  No, you are not responsible for their happiness but but by inferring there are no signs that lead to treasure, to them, interprets as there is no hope.  This forum has given them new reason to believe - unrealistic as it may seem.  Yes, you are entitled to your opinion but do keep in mind diversity of people and, given that we don't all think along the same lines, makes for exceptions to most rules.
