Bugar . The probem with detectors when you take them out on the beach or to the lakes  is that they are build wrong .  You have the grip and then down from that the housing is fastened . Down from there you will have the coil .  It is easy to get the coil waterproof but the housing with the batteries is another story . If you look at the housing there is only one wire comming out to the coil . If you take the housing off the pole you can put this housing in a waterproof container and feed out the wire to the coil throug a connector as use in the electronics business . The container is than out of the water  ( around your neck or your waist ) . Nomore trouble with water comming into your electrical circuit . If you want to take your detector under water ( while diving ) that will be another story but there is also a way to do that ( although a little more complicated )   Remember keep your detector as high as possible .  Cornelius

OK  =Thanks= I was just wondering bout that spray stuff we used, if it would help against the accidental wetting, sometimes i get caught in a rainstorm without a piece of plastic or baggie to wrap the box in, and have to head for shelter, normally when i think it looks like rain i use a water type detector, but sometimes mother nature fools me and I get  wet. Tnx Wise

The reason I posted these maps is because you can find nice locations to use your detector .  Look under  ,, Revolutionary Era ,,  than go to  ,, a plan of the attack of fort Sulivan ,, . Here you see that there was a fort  ( enlarge the map by double clicking ) . If there is still some open land available in that area it would be a nice spot to detect . And there are many other maps that will give you leads to nice spots . You have to do some work though to find them .   Regards and happy hunting   Cornelius
