I was hoping it was not that old Haven. I have enough puzzles right now. Being that old any water source could have dried up due to dropping water tables. There is some old canals in Phoenix which may tie into the age of your glyphs. The Ancient
Hohokam Canal System in the Valley of the Sun.

. I could not find enough on the subject so I leave it to you figure out.

If I make it up that way Homefire, I know the road well. Never looked for signs though, just hauling loads when I used to drive.

Now when I see circles or "V"'s I think of something like this. Never hurts to take a look. Any pictures of what the circle pointed too?

Haven,

Your sign says: Look for the entrance of the cave somewhere down hill. Where is your location? That big stone is also a pointer.

Who in their right mind would leave a treasure sign that BIG!!!!. Hell, half the local population could see it from almost a mile away! .. like other posters said its more likely a pointer for water or a village/encampment. Its most likely pointing to an old stream which is situated at the bottom of the hill .. but may no longer be there because the watercourse has changed.. however the engraving looks rather crisp and fresh .. so could be a modern water marker or more importantly a hoax Funny.

If we want to get to outlandish ideas about the site: I would say it points to where the treasure fakers meet up on every full moon, prance around naked in the stream and around a camp fire, where they eventually get stoned then try to discuss ways to annoy us real treasure hunters Laughing Laughing (maybe we should all turn up one evening and give em a good  Punishment Punishment Punishment) Grin Grin Grin
