It's an old Spanish Treasure monument meaning Gold is buried here.  If the turtle has no arms, legs, or tail, it means the Gold is where the turtle is or close by.  Go up thar and look fer other signs, especially a V as it will point the way to the Gold or to another treasure sign.  Get on Amazon and buy Mike Hawkeye Picketts book on Treasure Signs and you can learn all about signs, monuments and other things all about Treasure and how to find it.  Good luck but don't get Gold Fever, just remember  this is a fun hobby.  If you get GF thar ain't no anti-dote for it and it will drive you plum crazy.

 good advice Rattlesnake,
i know of the turtle being some kind of old treasure sign, but i aint no expert. The book will probly be a good helper. I think it depends on what other markers are around as to the meaning of the turtle!
