Go Up Go Down

Im not sure where to post this but I am interested in getting a large coil for my whites spectrum xlt. I have read on the blue max 15 inch from whites. The reason is I want to look for some buried caches and I dont see any need to buy a two box when this may get me deep enough. I was wondering if anyone has ever used a coil this big and what depth should I expect.

Dollor, What kind of depth do you get on those coils? Please let me know. I looked at a 12in hothead. I have read that a coil that size (15in)doesnt need to be directly on the ground. They said sometimes the higher up( to a limit) off the ground the better.

I read that it will go 3 to 4 feet on a good target. Some arent that deep. I went out today and dug an axe head at alittle over a foot on my standard 9.5 coil. I have dug mason jar lids over that with my beachhunter id. Its the same as a dfx except no meter only sound and lights for different targets. It has automatic discriminate and a all metal mode.

The 6000 that you have I think that is one of the best that Whites ever put out. I owned one for years. I loved that machine. The workhorse of Whites.

Detecting Dependind on the ground the 6000 set up right will pull targets a 14 to 16 inch the mxt not for sure have hunting with it some but the most i dug has been in the 8 to 10 inch range so far not to say it won't go deeper that as deep as i have dug to find target, the 15 in coil you are talking about will cover a lot of ground and if it is rockey and you need to hold up on it some that big coil may help to if you don't mind me asking what are you looking for may can help a little more good hunting and good luck on your coils

The ground that I will hunt is flat and still occupied. Well manicured lawn. I have my eye on a few

Detecting if your lawns are will took care of the people may not let you dig a 3 or 4 ft hole there if your coil get you that deep, have you try the coils you have know, in less the ground has been fill in to build the houses on it the coins should not be that deep, most people would not have dug a hole that deep because if thay need a little money look at the work thay would have to put in it to retive it it's safe to say that most coins put in the ground to be dug up later are not over a foot deep if it has not been filled in or in a place where dirt can wash over it and fill it in, is there some reason you belive it to be that deep

Yeah I think it may be deeper. I know someone who took a good detector there and found nothing. But they were inexperienced with detectors. and it was a Whites. They rented the place and are sure somethings there. I cant go into detail but they are sure its there

They didnt need to take from it. Maybe more than one.
