A couple of years ago I had a chance to buy a couple of acres of ground that attach to my property. It was overgrown farm ground that had been in CRP for years and was a mess but you don't usually only get one chance to buy farm ground in small pieces, so I paid to much. When I mowed it for the first time I had a real mess but found lots of old iron. Then we found some old foundation bricks. After a couple hard rains the pretty pieces of colored glass and old crockery pieces turned up. I finally started to detect it and there is a ton of iron so it's slow going but so far have a 1901 Indian head, 1909 cent and a 1911 cent. That is in an area that is about 20' by 30'. Finally I bought something that may be fun for years to come
