one good thing that came out of this is I now have permission to hunt the park. It's a state park & you need permission which I tried to get but couldn't get ahold of anybody
But now that they found me, the rangers said go right ahead Great

It has some old mills along a river, only the foundations left. Haven't found anything but trash so far, but I'm new at this.

Hi Snizzard
At least one thing came good for you out of all your trouble ,  at least some people of authority know of your presence , maybe you should capitolise on that fact a bit and approach the local museum or historical society and suggest that you would like to work with them to search for historical artifacts for their museum , that would realy open doors for you .
They might let you into areas that are off limits to the general public or even attract a money grant to you to search particular areas for them .  I've had grants to do research from the local council before now .  But you have to apply for it with a project plan of what benefit to the comunity you are offering .

This Roman Bronze Chariot was found buried in a farmers field in Greece by a metal detector , which I think is in an American museum now .   Not that I think you will find a Bronze Chariot , but the inspiration is that there could be some wonderful finds in your neck of the woods it's just the matter of luck and hard work to find them . Especialy if the museum is backing you and pointing  you in the right places to look .

Go Up Go Down

I work in a state mental hospital for the criminally insane, a rather meaningless term these days. But fully 1/3 of the male population on my area is in for sex offenses. My state just turned down requiring sex offender treatment of prisoners when they are discharged, saying that it is too expensive. That's called penny wise and pound foolish...
