If your buying and selling metal detectors for a living, Making good money then coil covers are a smart investment. It will keep your search coils looking brand new !! Or if you live where there are lots of rocks , or hard dirt everywhere buy a coil cover.         Regards.........  Eugene

Coil covers are like an insurance policy on your coil. Would you rather replace a $10 coil cover or a $250 Coil?

Yep and coils take normal ware and tear.  Covers help them live longer.

I have pretty much used coil covers most of the years I've been detecting.  They seem to do a great job of protecting the covers!   Great   Wise

It's not the overall initial weight.
It's the constant carry weight you know the longer you carry something the heavier it seems.

Remember basic training, doing the drills holding your weapon
At first the 7lbs seemed like nothing to hold up over your head or straight out shoulder height.  But 30 mins later your begging to put it down.   Same principle the lighter i can keep it the longer I can hunt.

LOL There Working four hours with my ol Garrett.  Weight something like 4lb.  The wrist goes dead after just a hour.    Only takes six batteries.  LOL but you know what ?  Nothing new goes any deeper in VLF. Or TR.  Old can be had Cheap and is every bit as good as he New.  Technology  has changed but not how they work.  I still like the old machines.   They work for me.  I just cant hunt as long.   More Beer Brakes.
