Yes, sensitivity is good. Md'd a beach volleyball site recently, the little PP worked well. Id'd a tiny little piece from a bracelet with ease.

Would be nice inexpensive gift for Christmas.

I have a $20 Automax from Kellyco I got when I bought my Garrett Scorpion Gold Stinger and it works well too.

Casca
I'm like you I don't want to let anyone know I have been digging in our local park or anywhere else for that matter.   Happy hunting and I hope you like the pin pointer as well as we do.

Yes, but haven't found any gold yet.  It does seem to dicriminate well and is light...a good thing since I used to use detectors from 70's, which were heavy as hell.  Does take awhile to get used to.

[detecting]Thanks for your reply!  I love mine and use it as often as I can.  I have not found any gold nuggets but many coins and jewelry.  I have the stock coil, 5''x10'' DD and have been thinking about getting the small coil for it so I can work up close to some fence.  I did take mine to a gold claim this past summer but found more using my sluce and gold pan.  Many people don't believe the power it has.  I will be taking mine back to the gold claim this coming summer, I would like to go now but the water is to cold and sleeping in a tent in the winter for more than one night is rough. Yup, looking forward to going into motherload next summer with my gold prospecting buddies.  Also have a desert fox and a Tom and Perry cleanup sluice for the concentrates I take home.  Gonna use the stinger as well looking for nuggets.  A prospector I know, found two nuggets and both are at least 8 ounces or more a piece.  We're gonna look in the general area near Mariposa, but he won't say where he got them.  I wouldn't either!

Is it still doing a good job for you now that you have had time to use it?

These are great pinpoiters for the money, and you can modify them if you like. If you crack open the case you can further turn up the sensitivity on the internal pot, you can add led lights, and a vibrating motor, by attaching them to the speaker circuit. Just drill a hole for the led light to stick out of and presto, it will light up when it detects. Note- the push button switch will wear out on these, but you can go to Radio Shack and replace it with a closed switch that is water resistant and better quality than the original, easy peasy. I suggest to have the unit last as long as possible that you leave it in the case while you use it, I cut small holes in the material to let the led light shine, and to let the sensitivity knob thru, and just push the button thru the material, the sound is quieter, but loud enough to be heard while wearing headphones.
