hello! as homefire says in the magnetic field post before "    Yes, Coil Shape and geometry does effect the magnetic fields, shape, density and ""direction "" i see on Nexus web site(

) a new coil ( see pics ) a new one meter coil that can detect a helmet at 2 meters down ? i ask if the field direction is down to the soil , maybe , but if the field is circular , it's direction will be :one meter down and one meter up isn't it and if it is like that , the electronic box of the MD wil be detected too ! so , what is the true ? they lies ? i don't think so , i recently buy their Nexus Standard MKII and it work as they says .
who can explain me about this new one meter coil , thank you

they says :
"Nexus Standard MP V2 equipped with the 41" (1.04 m) Carbon Fiber concentric search coil forms the deepest induction balance metal detector set on the market today. Many companies claims their detectors are the deepest, but when it comes to depth only one factor counts - absolute size of the search coil. Our 41” Carbon Fiber concentric search coil is by far the largest of all coils meant for use with hand held metal detectors. The 41” Carbon Fiber concentric search coil is extraordinarily light for its size – only 1070 grams. This weight is lower that of most competitive search coils of size 18” to 20”, which is 4 times or more smaller than our 41” coil.Another feature of this 41” concentric search coil is its super low peripheral weight. The low peripheral weight leads to most of the coil weight to get concentrated near the center of the coil, which in turn results in low inertial mass so while swinging the coil feels lighter than actually is.Currently our standard top set is the Nexus Standard MP with 20”DD Carbon Fiber search coil. The 41” concentric coil will add extra 50% sensitivity compared to the 20”DD.This set is made only to customers order. Please check for leading time before placing an order"

Any metal the detector is sensing from your own equipment is a Constant and will not be detected as a target.  NO Relative Motion within the detection field.    Metal in the detection rang like your staff, Box  even the coaxial cable to the control box does  come to play  with how sensitive you can run the detector.
