Go Up Go Down

Unfortunately over here in Northern Utah the ground is frozen (already), so things are pretty much on hold until spring. I've already got the itch to go out detecting and it's driving me crazy. About a mile from my house is an area where they completed some new freeway construction and put up a huge pile of dirt. I'm guessing that this is extra that they were using for the footings/foundation for the new bridge that they put across the freeway. They also tore down a small strip mall that was old and dilapidated (about 6-7 connected buildings) in this same lot/area. They've cleared away about 80-90% of the dirt now, so I'm thinking of maybe going over there to check out some of that area to see if by chance they scraped the ground to smooth it out - there could be some coins possibly in the top few inches of the soil around the buildings.

I can relate!  We have the same ground conditions here in northeastern Oregon.  Temperature right now is hovering around 30F.

Good luck at the construction site!  I might even go out in the cold for a quick hunt to check that out!  Sounds promising.  Good Luck!    Detecting

Heck our ground is FINALLY getting damp enough we don't have to use a jackhammer to dig the signals.....too bad the days are so short.

I can relate to the cold. Temps have been hovering in the high 40's to low 50's for several weeks. BRRR!

Well, BA, take comfort in the fact that we are only two days away from when they start to get longer again!    Grin
