both stock coils 4 and 8 inch for the f2 are concentric  so i will have to try one of the others one of these days  but thanks guys for sharing link that breaks down how they each work . all the info i have on larger coils in general just says they have larger search areas and we knew that . but as far as depth it say's (fisher detector store  info )  that  larger coils have greater depth on medium size targets so not sure about what is a meduim size may be relics ? it says the smaller coil is easier to pinpoint we new that and it is more sensitive  to smaller targets like gold  but in my time swingin mine i can say the same as most the smaller gives better seperation . as far as depth on small targets or at least coins in my expierience i have not noticed any difference in depth  on coins what so ever  and i have been with freinds with higher priced detectors having different coil types  (some times we each sweep the same targets and compare readings)  or what we think we are seeing them freakin pop cans read high and different depths for everyone hunting with and including me /my machine  and we have had cases were we all have ghosted out on somthing either not there or we was in need of a backhoe lol! i dont think i need a bigger/different type coil but i still want one just to try or experiment with so i would know for sure may like it better for some reason . also if you notice your 4 inch coil has a cone shape on the bottom which is not on the expanations i have looked at i would think that would give a narrow detection reception like the explanation of the dd coil i may be wrong and the fisher info thing i read says the center is more sensitive on the small coil than the outer edge of the coil  i will just have to try one my self lol!
