My wife just yelled at me for having dirt and sand in my pockets.  Club Which leads me to my question... I need a small pouch for my finds, but I have no idea what to use or where to get it. What do you guys use?

The SWMBO must be heeded. That's "She Who Must Be Obeyed." You could try the "old soft shoe" approach and tell her the sand and dirt is what you're really collecting. Your halo may be dented and tarnished but put it on anyway and give her your best innocent face.

Strong duck cloth or canvas works for me. I used to get my from H&S Detector Center in Virginia Beach but they're no longer around. Now I make them. It's not hard. A two pocket apron type pouch works best for me. Coins and goodies on the right and junk on the left. Really high value stuff goes into my pocket - just in case.

Rather than make one, try one of these. You could always ask to have one made in canvas.

Search on eBay for the terms 'waist apron' without the quotes. I just used the term nail apron and look what turned up:

I'm ordering two right now. Mine are getting pretty worn out.

On second thought, they only have two available. You order them and I'll wait.

Thanks! I've seen these at my local hardware store. Nail pouch, I believe they are called. You order the ones online, don't worry about me. I'm positive I can find one locally. Thanks again.

I saw an Ace Hardware store shop that had them for $2.99 each. Would you get two for me and send them to me in Australia?

Nail pouch is what I used to begin with.  Now I use a leather pouch.

I use a small nylon belly bag/fanny pack with 1 large compartment and 2 small ones. You can put a log book, spare batteries, etc. in the small pockets and use the bigger one for finds. And they zip open and closed so you don't loose stuff.
