Ah, that answers it then.  Something sentimental but valuable at the same time.  Maybe just a small stash of gold, or quite old silver dollars.  It would be hard to tell, until you find it.  Even though you probably won't know what is in it, unless you got a peek at it somehow.  Can't blame the poor woman though, people these days are not exactly trustworthy.  Hopefully you'll get a look at it though. Wink

the items that were found buried, brought to the surface would have stayed there for eternity, whether you kept them or the owner of the land kept them you were the one who brought them to the surface and you should be proud of doing so. Be proud of rescuing some history and keep on digging .
