Go Up Go Down

I have found a gold mine in one of my neighbors pastures.  I don't mean it in a literal way, there really is no gold.  But what I found is better than gold, which is there is a lot of it there in that pasture.  I have looked at it,  and studied it and what I considered trash is now treasure.  This item is old square nails.  Why would they be gold to me? Because they are valued at $5 to 10 a piece.  I'm going to get permission to go back and retrieve a good dose of it.

Anyways, I talked to a friend about it.  He had told me not to tell them what I was going in there for and just take it.  I know the people that own the land, and I also know where my friend is coming from about it.

You could buy them a nice ham, fruit tree or something showing appreciation for letting you detect there and say you would like to see if there's anything you missed. I often give people something later just for giving me permission to detect - even if I didn't find much. Usually they tell me to come back again, if I'd like. Sue

Hm, that's a generous action.  And I bet it is rewarding like you mentioned lastly.  I was planning to split 50:50 if I found a lot of it, which I have no doubt that I will.  In fact, I'm glad that I can lend them some of the findings reward.  That or give them the item if they want it that way.  Which way it is, I don't mind.

Nice way to get to detect though, thanks for the info.  It was sort of selfish for me not to think of it, but at least I have that in mind now.  Thanks again. Wink

Like anyone would probably think, that if they let them look that they would be more tempted to take something from it.  Though I suppose the suspense would even be worse.  Not quite sure, but that's what I think is why she didn't want you to look in it.

the suspense is killing me i think ill have her go with me and she can dig it up so im not tempted ... i think it is something sentimental cas she kind of had a teary expression when telling me about it
