Sure is making the digging tough right now, hope this dry spell gets gone, bout wore myself down to a frazzle digging some  crummy ol coins yesterday, got 30, but was tough digging, mostly pennies, but they Wise eventually add up

And that explains why most metal detecting in  my neck of the woods is done in places where you can use a pick without having folks freak out about damaging the lawn and destroying the greenery.....of course more than one person I know has seriously damaged a good coin or relic by being overly aggressive with their pick.

Definitely preferred well watered ground that a reasonable digger will just slide right into.
