I am new at md I have a bounty hunter 202, I am having problems knowing where my target is when its located by the md... meaning is the target at the center of base plate when the sensor go off or is the target to the outside of it?

Once you find the target Hold the Coil over were you think it is.    While holding the coil close to the ground Press the All Metal button.

Re find your target.    It will Be in the center of the coil at the loudest Sound.

yep, but hold it about 4-8 inches from where you think it is, then hit the button and listen for the loudest sound. If it tells you its a large target, you can narrow it down by releasing the button and hitting it again. You can keep "narrowing" it that way if needed. If its coins your after......it wont take you long to realize what a coin sized target sounds like. This helps to avoid trash and especially those deep aluminum cans. I normally dig everything that repeats as I swing the coil over it. Thats a good way for you to learn what your detector is telling you, also you wont miss any jewelry or collectables that way.
