Hi guys,
'Am just a newbie here but am so thankful to have this opportunity to raise this query to everyone.
We're involve in a treasure digging somewhere in Mindanao now. And we're using Garret detector. At first when we detect the site it sounds like a beep alarm. Until nowadays as we go deep around 32 feet, the sonic alarm changes to very rapid fire armalite rifle. Is there any significance to our digging? Please confirm and help.

garrett cx hound? vlf,  no good detector if used in the philippines. i have one. it detects in miniralized soil, pyrites or wet sand, rocks, trees, unstable circuitry. it can detect metal if you know its metal. thats why you reach the 32ft. for me, i used pulse induction metal detector and test it first in very harsh conditions. pi detectors survives. if you use metal detectors you should test and log the results for your quick reference.

What Garrett are you using?

Are you sure it is working properly?

It's almost like this attached image the garret we've used. The operator of the detector informed us that it's almost 1 foot below the treasure is located. Is this true? What is the signs and layers of soil if the treasure is almost there?

Hay Watre Lilly,

That is a GTA 350. You may have a GTA 500
or a GTAx 500.

Those machines do not have a ground balance
feature.

After going deeper the ground chemistry changes.
The conductivity of the ground will change also.

I think that your metal detector is not adjusted to
the dirt.

There is a way to adjust it, but you have to take
the cover off and find a small electrical pot. Then
the adjustment must be done on the spot.

I used to have a GTAx 500 and had to do that with
mine. But I can not remember much about how to
do it. It has just been too long.

Good Luck,

Tabdog

Hi Tabdog,

Thanks for the inputs. I was able to confirm with our detector guy who operates the unit. Our unit is a Garret 2500Pro. According to him based on his detection, the items are almost there. It's about a foot or two. I don't know how true it could be. The detction is so loud and very rapid like a armalite rifle. Unlike when we're at the 10-15 ft deep that signal was just a loud beep. Can you explain us how true his statement is just to shed us light. Thank you.

All the best

Hay Watter Lilly,

If he has the GTI-2500 PRO Plus Treasure Hound two box unit,

it will detect large deposits of gold, but not small deposits.

If it is large enough, it may be detected up to about 15 feet.

That would be a good sized object.

I have never used a two box unit and do not know what kind

of a response you would be getting.

But, I hope you are on to someting.

Good luck,

Tabdog
