OK I live in a kinda rural area, and have been detecting in this particular area for 46 years or so, most folk know that I detect, so whenever they get a new roof or siding job on their house, they automatically call me to rid their lawn or driveway of all the nails that the contractor missed or did not pick up with his roll around magnet (they do not work all that great), so I go over the area they specify with my detector, (about any detector will do) and pick all the nails that can be found, usually around 4 passes will do it, I charge $40.00 an hour from arrival till I leave, (and keep all the good stuff I find also), this is a bargain since most tire repairs will run $20.00 or in that area, or auto club call out, I usually show the customer the nails I retrieve, small jobs, sometimes 10 or so, one job I got around 100 nails, the folk are very happy and usually, give a large tip, been doing this for years, sometimes couple jobs a month , sometimes more, the customers are happy, ind I do enjoy the funds, most of my customers I have known for years and are repeat callers, gotta keep them happy
