Go Up Go Down

I never carried a weapon, but more recently I have
been in some rough areas.

I decided to carry a real small auto, using 9mm. It
is one I already owned and it is easy to carry.

{alt}

But, for metal detecting it is bulky, and a pain. It
was too easy to see tha outline of a gun in my pants
pocket or shirt. It was too uncomfortable to put in my
pants and bend over a lot.

I just ended up not carrying it until I had someone
assaulted me. I protected my self with my digger.
But I over extended several parts of my body. I have
been too sore to detect for almost two weeks now.

So, I wanted something that was small. Besides, I
do not really want to kill anyone. I need something
to make noise and let me get out of tha situation
without having to struggle.

So, I went to tha local pawn shop and Mike sold
me this little derringer for $120. It shoots 32 auto.

Here it is with my 9mm and 45 auto.

{alt}

Most pistols will not fit in a box tha size of tha Red
Book.

{alt}

But my little 32 will.... lol

{alt}

I've shot about 70 rounds out of it. It is a solid, low
cost gun by Davis Industries. It is chromed and it
weighs about 10 ounces.

Tha weakest point seems to be tha extractor. But I
can live with that.

It is rough like a tractor compared to those $500
derringers.

{alt}

But I like it.

I will carry this one.

Happy Huntin,

Tabdog

Gives a whole set of new meanings to the term "Treasure Hunting."

Being prepared is a good way to live. Hope you never have to use it.

Wow, now that is a small little handgun.  Though, something that small can be concealed better than most can.  Like mentioned above, hope you never have to use it!!

I'm sorry to hear you were assaulted.  That's terrible!  Was it a really seedy part of town or something?  I just can't imagine that happening but I guess anything is possible these days.  I could see issues though with carrying a gun depending on where you are looking.  I still can't get over the fact that someone assaulted a man with a metal detector!  It blows my mind!

Hope you feel better soon.  There's a lot outthere waiting for you to find!  (and show us! hehe!)

Hay Relic raiser,

It was in rough part of town.
I have hunted there 3 or 4 times and
never seen anyone ever come into tha
park.

I do not know where he came from. I
just suddenly was trying to keep him
from tripping me or stabing me.

I fought as hard as I could.

I strained almost every muscle in my
body.

Still sore,

Tabdog

Hi,

Just a quick note.  Davis also makes an "interesting" gun of similar size (we sold a lot at the
pawn shop).  It was a 45 long colt/(here's the interesting part) .410

Yep, it was sold as a single shot .45 long colt, but a .410 shotgun shell would also work in
this weapon.  My personal "pocket weapon" was the NAA .22  I was amazed how accurate it
is at 15 feet with .22 hollow point Stingers (within most assault distances).

We always carried something in the pawn shop.
