Thanks everyone for your advice. Golddigger, you seem to be knwledgeable of the science of detecting which interest me. could you expound on your last comment about size and density of the objects. I want to learn as much as I can

I have to correct my self on this one.

The 94b is IB not TR.

And yes it is forgiving on small bits of Iron , Roof Tin, and Nails If you tune to the other side of Iron.

Not Deep but can Ignore some of the Trash.

I can show you Post from other forums stating the same.

I've taken mine out of the van and everyone looked at me walking to the back of there trucks doing the Hen Party and Laughing.

One hour later they packed it in and put there stuff away and I've found a coin or two and was still hunting.

This is Why I like Old!

Hell, A BFO is Rock in the Right Spots!

I have made literally thousands of posts on this and other technical topics. First, the targets are different. A coin is not normally a ferrous object while a nail is. Thus, the magnetic fields which build up in them do so differently. In ferrous targets, magnetic flux lines build up internally and aligned to the longest axis. A nail would have flux lines in a straight line through the nail, out the ends and complete themselves in a donut around the object. A coin has eddy currents (magnetic swirls) that build up on the surface and make it look like a large field of magnetic bubbles on a round object. Some detectors will ignore the ferrous objects and only "see" the surface eddy currents.

Some are designed to do that from the onset and others can be tuned to do that. Others react to coins and nails differently allowing you to tell what they are from above the target just by the sound (someone mentione that already on this topic). On one of my favorite machines, a nail makes a fast blip-blip instead of a steady, solid beep like a coin does. Since you don't say what you are using, it's hard to give you more advice from the technical side.

Wish I still had a Old BFO.    They rock for finding Black Sands Deposits. Cool

I know what you mean there GD.

The thing can hunt areas that give a VLF Fits.
