There's a move afoot in congress that would vitally impact all treasure hunters.

A new bill has been introduced to eliminate dollar bills, and instead everybody would use dollar coins.

If that were to happen, we'd be finding dollar coins everywhere, like we're finding clad coins now!

Why the push for a change from paper dollars to metal-coin dollars? Because it would save the government a cool 5 1/2 billion dollars over a 30-year period.

Find out who's for it, and who's against it, in this show.

I would say that is very good news.
They did it here in Australia to the one dollar and the two dollar bills.
One dollar is 25.00mm 92% copper 6% aluminum 2% nickel
Two dollars 20.50 mm the same composition.
All coin machines love them and on a good day you get enough money for pizza and beer.
I can't wait for the $5 coin to come out.
And will be nice if it’s only 15.00mm and the same composition.

I've had a few $100+ days all due to those coins. I trained myself to hear the whisper of them on the beaches of Western Australia.

It's all about that moment when metal that hasn't seen the light of day for generations frees itself from the soil and presents itself to me.

Yes the good old days.
Now there are too many detectors looking for them.
And with the new turn on and go machines the operator doesn’t need to have any skills to find them.
If fact many of them they wouldn’t even know what a manual ground balance is
