[hello]My Troy shadow x3 is a coin  magnet.  No longer available new I don't think  but if you can find  a used one it would be in your range $$ 2 to 400$$ used.  I believe depth can depend on the grounds condition as well. happy hunting Smiley

I'm looking at...
1. Minelab Etrac
2. Garrett Ace 250-350
3.Fisher F4-F5
4.MPX Digital 10"
5.Technetics Delta 4000
6. Titan 2000X

In that order.

Has anyone had experience with one or more of these units?
Comparison?
Will the Minelab find me more deep dimes than the others?

As I do research on detectors, the more impressed I am with the deal I got on my Famous Trails MD7012.
This thing has 3 tones and all the adjustments that more expensive units have, and IT REALLY WORKS!!
Pinpoints as good or better than anything I've seen on youtube!
Not so great on disc but what the heck?, they say dig all targets Wink

If it was me I would narrow it down to
1. Minelab Etrac
2. Garrett Ace 250-350
3.Fisher F4-F5

All are good detectors but these are the ones I like best.

I have a Tesoro silver umax.I have only had the chance to get her out once this year since I got it. I did a lot of bench testing over the winter.I have a test garden set off to the side of my yard. This Saturday was the only good day to get out and I ran it through the garden. It was all over the silver coins.
I also did a couple hour hunt in my back yard,no silver this time but what I did find "nails, soda caps, brass fittings' it was dead on with dead center pin pointing.
I read a LOT of reviews on this maching and have read nothing but good about this unit.
Plus you can't beat the life warranty.  Great
Good luck with your dision.... Smiley

Hector each area is going to be a little differnt what works best in one area may not work as good some where else , best thing to do is find a local group and a local store and see what everyone else in Your Area is buying and Using then make your decision based on that info!!

Hector chill!! Karl has somthing there. I don't use the same detector when beach hunting. You might really consider the Etrac. My buddy has one and his silver finds are pretty deep..good luck with your decession... Smiley

Another vote on the Tesoro.

This Cibola I have is my 4th detector... and after a few weeks I was able to call my shots with coins.... I cant say that about the other three. Seeing where your price range is... I'd consider the Tesoro's line. Just crank the DISC all the way up and swing it. If its a tight, unbroken signal when "X" ing it out... dig it.
