I've drilled out a replace those battery Clips on the Garrett battery trays before.   

The other day there was  Battery tray on flea bay.   It was just the Plastic frame.

The A2B was for the Aussie market but also in the US Garrett catalog in 1982.
From what I understand it had a 1 turn fine tune and coarse tune ground balance pots, that's why it was not recommended for US purchasers. It could not finely ground balance as the reg Groundhog with the 10 turn GB pots.

In 1985 the Americanized A2B "Gold Hunter" came out. New meter, 10 turn fine tune ground balance, 10 turn coarse gb tune pot and an additional adjustment for target signal tone.
