Question about X - Terra 70

Hi To you all. I have an X -Terra 70 at this point in time. I have used different Detectors and I have found with the X -Terra 70  when hunting for gold that if you descriminate an object with the setting on 1 it will also councel out gold. Has anyone had this trouble and can you get around it in any way. I find gold as long as I don't have iron near it. I think another detector could be the right fix. Ken

Yep, It's to do with the recovery speed I'm afraid.
Minelabs take a while to "recover" after hitting iron.
Couple of things you might try:
Search in all metal and practice with some small bits of trash and some good stuff.
With practice you should be able to distinquish the different sounds.
A smaller coil might help too with the recovery speed.
I got a little 5" Detech Excelerator for searching my trashy garden (Bits of iron every few inches) - makes a fantastic difference.
Bonus with that would be if you are searching for small gold the smaller coil is more sensitive on small objects.
Try using as little discriminate as possible, just enough to knock out small iron.
I reckon if you dig 50 odd trash and get 1 good result it's worth it!

Hi Paul A, Thanks for your advice. I think the speed has somthing to do with recery as I notice that if you swing to quick you are way past your Target before the siginal sounds. I find the Detector to be good on gold. I use little to no discriminate when detecting. I am waiting for the small coil to come I think it will halp. I will let you know when I get out with it.
