Garrett Ace 250, Garrett Pro Pointer, Tesoro Compadre

Go Up Go Down

Well i just started detecting about 2 months ago. I started with a Bounty Hunter Discovery 2200 but decided i wanted something different. Was thinking i might like a Tesoro but ended up ordering a New Garrett Ace 250 Deluxe Sports Package which arrived yesterday. In the mean time i had also placed a bid on a Fisher 1212 on e-bay and won it too. So then i had 3 detectors, but still not exactly what i was thinking i wanted. Then last night a i made a guy an offer on his Tesoro Compadre. He bought it new and used it about 20 min. before he figured out he didn't really want it. So it is basically new, still has the warranty card and all, and i got it for $115. Not a Great deal i guess, but a Good deal. I managed to sell the Discovery, and now i really need to sell the Ace 250, and maybe the Fisher as well. The Ace is probably a real good machine from all i have read but it has a small display screen and my old eyes just can't see the screen without reading glasses on and i can't hunt with them on so somebody can get a Real Good deal on a brand new Ace 250. The Deluxe Sports Pack includes the standard Ace 250 and also a 9x12" coil, rain cover, carry bag, headphones, and "Finding Lost Treasures" field guide. So, what are the views on the Compadre? Is it all it is cracked up to be as far as finding small Gold Jewelry and coins? Will it work at the ocean beach?

Hello , Let us know how the Fisher 1212 works . Here is the 1212 schematic if you need it  . If you decide to sell them all , then you can buy a more intermediate priced machine on craigslist or ebay...........Regards.....Eugene

Thanks for the schematic. I am going to keep the Tesoro and sell the NIB Ace 250 Deluxe Sports Pack and the Fisher 1212.

It is a good idea to have a backup. Except for one that fell down a cliff on me once, I have kept my detectors from the first I ever purchased. All are in tip top shape to this day and will keep me detecting even if one should fail and need repair.

Ah, life is good.

It's all about that moment when metal that hasn't seen the light of day for generations frees itself from the soil and presents itself to me.

Hello.

I am a serious beach hunter.

Dry sand losses, especially in the summer months, are not deep.

This is why I bought a Compadre seven weeks ago.

The unit has a 8" donut coil, available here in Europe.

In seven weeks, I found over the 1700 coins and twice gold with it.

It repaid itself two and a half times.

So basically, put the disc just under "iron" ang dig everything !

Have fun !

Thanks for the info. The Compadre should be here either Sat or Mon. Plan to take a trip to the coast nest week and try it out. Take care.
