So the Fisher 1236 X2 finally arrived, back in 2006! My first detector and was I keen to get going!!
Unpacked and assembled I race down to one of the local beaches with the wife reluctantly in tow and start just below the dune line and WHACK, a target...scratch, fiddle scoop, dig etc and out pops a newish looking coin. Hey, a find's a find.
Not long after another one and the wife is impressed with my efforts. Another and another and another...man, that new boat is looking more of a reality to me, why didn't I do this years before?!!
After about a half-hour my wife turns to me with a sad look on her face and tells me that she is all out!
Eh? 'Of coins', she says. So yes, she had been ambling ahead of me dropping the odd coin here and there, about $2-3 worth in coins.
Yes, I kept the coins and we still don't speak.
