Fisher 1236 X2
« on: September 18, 2010, 09:07:27 am »
Go Up Go Down

So the Fisher 1236 X2 finally arrived, back in 2006! My first detector and was I keen to get going!!
Unpacked and assembled I race down to one of the local beaches with the wife reluctantly in tow and start just below the dune line and WHACK, a target...scratch, fiddle scoop, dig etc and out pops a newish looking coin. Hey, a find's a find.

Not long after another one and the wife is impressed with my efforts. Another and another and another...man, that new boat is looking more of a reality to me, why didn't I do this years before?!!

After about a half-hour my wife turns to me with a sad look on her face and tells me that she is all out!  Huh? Eh? 'Of coins', she says. So yes, she had been ambling ahead of me dropping the odd coin here and there, about $2-3 worth in coins.

Yes, I kept the coins and we still don't speak.

That's one of the funniest things I've read.

ha ha . That's funny! My wife usually finds more coins in the beach parking lots without a detector than I sometimes do with my assortment of $$ detectors........ So she talks.... I listen....  Kiss

you know today was my first day of reading about Th-ing, and guess what. I took my fathers Bosch metal detector for wires and wood and tried it on my coin. Picked totally random place of my backyard and 2cm of place where I put my coin i found another signal, pretty old nail. I might be born for this hobby Tongue Now i'm seeking for VLF schemes so I can build real detector

Hehe, a natural detectorist! Great But you must be very careful...it is extremely addictive and can lead to divorce in some cases....which is ok as it gives you more time to be out detecting Funny
Good one, keep in touch and scan through all the topics as there are some guys with plans and links to sites with plans, so good luck!
