Go Up Go Down

We have a small break in the rain storms that should last all week. I have approximately a one hour window of time today. Just pondering taking my detector for a drive - it needs the fresh air - or breaking open the books for more research. I have 4 boxes of local history magazines from the 1920s to sort through which I haven't even opened yet.

What to do . . . what to do??

The detector wins. I can always sort the magazines (which are bound by years) on the next rainy day. Hey, I might even read a few dozen of them.

Thanks for helping me decide my friends. See you in about an hour.

It's all about that moment when metal that hasn't seen the light of day for generations frees itself from the soil and presents itself to me.

Go Up Go Down

Went for a while but the wind started knocking branches down and blowing them across the area where I was hunting. I lasted all of 10 minutes before I had to give up. Gale force winds and driving rain started up just after I got there. I tried to brave it but it was just too much. Winds gusted to 120km/hr and stuff was whipping past me at that rate. When a bit struck home, it really stung.

Move along here, people. Nothing to see. I did not die in the incident and no trees were harmed in the creation of this post. The storm did all that.

Sounds like the elements are trying to tell you to stay home and sort your archives. Grin

Cough . . . sniffle . . .

Well, went out today and got soaked. Really soaked. To the bone. It was a perfect, clear day but I had to go and ruin it by going to the beach. A mere 15 minutes after I got there, the sky opened up on me. Did I mention it was freezing cold? By Perth standards anyway. In spite of the short time, I found 65c in modern coin and a solid gold bracelet. I even managed to get a couple of pictures which I will post here.

The first is the undercut made by wave action from the current active storm fronts. The second is the beautiful sun poking through the storm clouds.
