by the way i was never interested or done any air tests.
mean nothing under real conditions

Yeah I know Air Tests don't mean much when it comes to depth, but they are good for mapping a coils detection field or for checking their sensitivity,

You seem to be doing really good with it so far, I always try to use it with the tracking locked because the Tracking system is so fast it can ground balance in one or two pumps of the coil so it helps to keep it locked,

Well I Ground balance it in the salt mode and then Lock it, If you are in Tracking and you find a target if you press the Grab button or pull the trigger it Pauses the Tracking so the target does not get tracked out,

If you push the trigger forward it goes in to a non motion / pin point mode and pauses the tracking. But it is good for locating/Tracing targets and seams and pipes and cables etc.

RR is the local expert on the MXT. I have used his suggestions on my MXT 300. Once you get that hot rod honed in you will be fine shape. More is not always better on some of those settings.

Thanks for the kind words,

I have been running the last 3 models of the MXT's for over 7 years now and no matter what comes out they are just copies of the MXT, they don't have anymore power, In fact with the third tone All metal threshold mode If you use them like you would a TDI or a GPX they are the deepest VLF around, and in good ground they will go deeper than most PI's In fact in normal dirt the MXT with the 12"/300 Coil got more depth than my M/L GP3500.

Only problem with the 12" coil is it is so heavy Angry.    I have been using the 10" dd but suspect I'm not getting the depth. Maybe will go to the ole 950 for a while.

The 14x10 Detech DD goes Deeper and adds 2 to 3 inches over the 950 and 10DD coils. and it is lighter or close to what the 10"DD is
