Hi guys

Ever herd of a rooster that lays eggs? well neither have I but apparently this detector is both a roster and a hen. Got you interested haven't I! good cause this detector is both a VLF and a PI machine all in one. The idea is a very good one but dose it work? In my opinion this detector is just a gadget and quite an expensive one.

That company has quite a following .

I've never messed with them but some times you just have a feeling.

Have you ever had that feeling ?

I don't remember anyone ever making a Deepers Clone Work.

Emmmmmmmmm.

Yep, This is just a Stop Gap attemp to get into both markets.

Hell, it's plenty hard to make a Decent VLF for the Job.    Hard Enough to make a PI Gold Machine.

How are you going to put them both in the same Box?

I'm call this one a Duck!    LOL

Could one of you technical folks explain to me in simple terms that my layman brain can wrap itself around why you can't have two separate systems with separate boards in the same housing, especially when you have a toggle switch to determine which of the two systems get's the juice?    Are the coils so much different that they can't be cross compatible (yes, I realize that might be the engineering sticking point) and if so, could the coils be "nested"? ... and yeah, I know that you would have to factor in/cancel the signal returned by the "non-active" coil if you went with a "nested" option.

A PI coil will have in the region of 500uH a VLF coil about 6mH now how do you want to use the same coil for both machines? Well you can't so I guess that you will just have to have two sets of coils but how will that extra coil affect the other? You have to take from one side to give to the other one way or the other and in my opinion you cant have the best of both worlds.

Ok....I thought the coil would be the weak point.  Thanks for the confirmation.

Yes but what I'm saying is that you got to lose some where. Only question is where? is it depth? or could it be sensitivity? or perhaps a bit of both? At the end of the day it a lot of money for some thing not knowing if it will work like it should. Mind you perhaps it dose and it could even be a great machine but would you be willing to take the risk?

Ok, I posted about the Coil and now it's gone.

Is someone breaking the Cardinal Rule about deleting post here?

There two different animals.

Mules and horses! Shocked

There is a way you could do coils but they would not be as good as a single purpose coil.

The Mix would mess you up on Sensitivity

That's why we need you technical types to occasionally explain things in simple terms to us non-techies.....our strengths lie in other parts of the hobby.   Mules and horses I can understand, especially if you're talking racehorse and plow-mules.

As a minimum you need 2 coils for a VLF.    You can use two coils on a PI but (One Works Most well they are no ware the same.)

The Metallic Content of the coils would cause problems with each other.

The VLF Detector uses the Phase Difference of the target to see it.

The coil of he PI would Blind it to the most parts and hide the target.

The PI uses a Pulsed signal some what like Radar and looks for a  echo The Eddy Currents produced in the Target.

That too would be blinded by the windings of he VLF Coils.

Ok, so say there using he same windings to do the same job~

There Compromising the mess and missing the target.

If you put two Coil sets in the same housing of one machine they would cause problems with each other.
