It's always possible that a short could be present on the PC Board itself. With all the components on the board it can be hard to see such a thing. Have you got a multimeter?

The first thing to do is check all power runs from the regulators. If you have a schematic diagram and can post it here, that would save me some time looking for it.

There is no shortage of schematics with correction after correction making it essential that you be certain this is the one your board uses. I too found dozens of them and most are wrong in some way.

Hey guys thanks for the help but the board is now no good as one of the tracks came away as i was desoldering the 2222 transistor, i will reorder the kit and try again i will post once i get the new board fingers crossed i dont kill another one Violent  Angry Angry Angry Angry Angry

You can repair that track easily. Just cut it away wherever it is lifted and replace it with an insulated wire from point to point. It will be fine. Once you get the other issue worked out, of course.
