When you can't see any screws, normally you have to take the knobs off, remove the nuts on the controls and the face will come off allowing you access to the inside. That's how I replaced the battery wires on my Bounty Hunter after a pair of non-alkaline batteries were put in it by a well meaning friend who I loaned it to. They leaked and corroded the terminals. The face plate will need a small screwdriver to pry it out near the left and right edges.

Well then look for small rubber dots or plastic dots on the case that look as if they are not part of the case. There are some cases where they are able to be popped out to expose screws. If there are none of those, you may have to peel the faceplate off to get to the screws. I have a suggestion for you that wouldn't eliminate the sound from the speaker but it would allow headphones and volume control.

Rubber band it around your detector over the speaker. Replace the headphones with some good ones and give it a go. Worth testing it out since it doesn't affect your detector's integrity and accomplishes the mission. The price listed there is including postage. I guarantee you will hate me for ever sending you there. It's an Aladdin's Cave.

I know, mate. Every time I go there I have to hide the credit cards. It's a crying shame, that is.

I fingered it out, you have to, like GD said, peel off the front, and there are screws underneath. I am posting pictures for anyone else, that has never taken anything like this apart. Carefully pick around the faceplate untill its loose and carefully peel it off. There is a ribbon type cable connected to it, so be carefull. Foiled

Good work, mate! I've had a few of those with screws hidden beneath the faceplate. For those who don't know about them, it's a bit like trying to figure our which came first - the chicken or the egg.
