No problem.... I do appreciate all the wisdom you guys give... I don't know and other MD people here in the San Diego area.... I spend to much time on the ship.. Trying to get out more often...Lately its been walking the dog in the evening...

Shape of the coil is also important.I prefer coil double "O" .Search field is smaller than double "D" ,but much concentrated,goes deeply and has very high sensitivity.I tested double "O" 19sm diameter (single O) with frequency of 11 kHz and self made MD from a schematic ,I found on the net.Copper plate 10/10 sm. I detected at about 90sm. in the ground. The ground was normal and dry and MD worked only in manual ground balance.I wasn`t able to build such a coil again.This was 2 years ago and I gave MD to a frend.
PS: Voltages of the Tx coil was about 25V .
