Hi
My web server was down some hours last night.
So I post schematic, hex file, and parts list here also.
Parts list is new, not on my site yet, I will add it to my website too.

Thank you Teemo, for your hex. Wink
What do you use for search coil dampening?
What timing schedule, sample etc ?
can we modify the source code to suit our needs?
So many questions Cheesy
Regards
john

Hi John.
My circuit is not dumped. Instead it is resonant circuit L1,C1.
Coil driving is 140 microsecond current pulse after every 2milliseconds.
You can't modify the source code now, because I havn't released it yet. Also there is no point to begin debugging the hex file, because it would be waste of time when I publish the original code later.

With best wishes,
Teemo

He is using the PIC instead of components like you would be used to, see the code inside the PIC replaces all them external components well most of them

So it's still in the Eddy Current and Time Domain responce?

The coil gets switched on, a TX pulse goes out, it gets switched off, there is a quiescent time and the RX is then sensed to determine if there is a target response or not. It's all done by one teeny, tiny little chip and one MOSFET.

It's all about that moment when metal that hasn't seen the light of day for generations frees itself from the soil and presents itself to me.

OK well this was the response that I had for you but I see that my mate GD beat me to it LOL but here it is any way.

Well yes all the timing is done within the PIC with code so for example if you want an on time of 100ms then a delay of 10ms and an analysis time of 30ms you would simply tell the PIC to turn on port A1 for 100ms then tun port A1 off and turn port A2 on for 30ms 10ms after after port A1 was turned off. It is actually as simple as that and you also have the possibility to change all your timing with out even having to open your detector COOL don't you think? this is what they are giving you on them fancy detectors where you have all them settings, most of it works with volts or PWM and probably there are other ways but I'll leave that to GD as he is by far more qualified than me in the subject.

Hi all.
Please do not get too exited about it. It is still more like Poor mans detector and educational project. Can't really compare to the fancy detectors :Smiley. I now tested, that it can detect 10cent euro coin at 5cm in air. This is my work hosrse, that is built for detecting nails in logs.
