Ms Blaze,

Can you tell me more about these coils.

I'm fairly certain that the Ace 350 was designed to be upwardly compatible with all the Ace coils.

Thanks,

I know they most be close just not sure with the different frequency how they will go. Been a little hard to get a clear answer, even from Kellyco staff. I have sent an information request to Garrett and will post the answer on here once I receive it.

I'm really glad I joined this group and wish I had known about it earlier...  Smiley

The last gasp of summer is upon us and the beach goers are hard at it. We're expecting rain tomorrow so I'll be in the water in spite of it being school holidays and Easter weekend. I'll have the place to myself. You know how it goes.

The tot lots continue to be good producers but slow, hard work. The grass here is very matted and tight to conserve water so anything dropped here is on the surface. Older stuff is buried but you have to damage the grass to get to it. I leave it alone and stick to the beaches and tot lots.

Yep over cast here today.

Taking the kids to the Royal Easter Show (Sydney) on Sunday and Monday and whilst in Sydney will check out the beaches as they are well visited. Lots of opportunities to discover. Looking forward to our detectors singing to the sound of good finds.

I have noticed locally that whilst we have had a lot of rain over the past 6 months the ground is still very hard. Took my Garret AT Pro out for a drive/walk last Sunday at a nearby old town and found several old coins but had to work hard for it in solid ground.

Been communicating with NSW National Parks recently to try and find out why we can not detect in their National Parks when they will allow it in State Forrest's and Victoria allows it in their National Parks. Have put the case that this activity has less impact on the environment then many other activities they allow. Further in many cases its a positive one as rubbish including lead is removed. See how we go as so far they have not been able to fully answer this question.

Go Up Go Down

I have the Excelerator 10x14 DD EQ2 coil on my Ace 250. The coil will fit the 150, 250 and 350 series. I found a penny at 9" today and 3 more at 5-6", This spot was all ready gone over many times with my 9x12 stock Proformance coil. This coil seems like it will go really deep and I air tested it on many coins and seems to go around 2" deeper than the stock coil. There is a trick with pinpointing this coil, it only picks up the coin in the center of the coil. You have to get a full signam left to right then pull the detector towards you till the sound starts to drop off and the coin is normally at the tip of the coil. This has been the case every tiem so far. Also, the coil is a bit heavy and will be a bit loose on the shaft unless you use a shim to keep it snug. I hope this helps and Kellyco has them on a secret sale for $99 but not sure how long it lasts. HH Warren Detecting
