Go Up Go Down

Been looking at metal detecting for a long time. Now at 66 find myself with time and living in Colombia. Wife and I bought a piece of property on the Southern Caribbean Sea. Summer in Minnesota on Lower Whitefish Lake, north of Brainerd.  So to I am asking for advise as to a good first saltwater, freshwater and hopefully, land detector.  Appreciate anyone advise.  Thanks and enjoy reading the posts.....

 Hello
Welcome aboard the forum, it's good to have you here!

Nothing wrong with getting started late in life, and you'll enjoy the hobby I'm sure. (heck, I didnt get started working till late in life) Grin

The Tesoro machines are fine, and they have a good all around water machine or two.
You have the Whites AT pro, and a couple other whites machines that would also suit you fine.
You have the Garrett water machines, and others....

But I think the tesoro's would be a VG entry point for water and on land.

Cheers,  Great

I recommend the Tesoro Tiger Shark. After a year of testing it, it works in fresh, salt and brackish water just fine. On land it is very hot! By that I mean it can find a target when other machines just pass over it. This is the new model that Tesoro put out just last year and it's a winner. Waterproof to 60 meters and wonderful on land, I cannot recommend it any more highly.

Look to KellyCo for the best price.

Have a wonderful retirement, mate. You've earned it. Don't forget to keep in touch and let us know what we're missing down there. Right now, I'd love to be near the equator. Freezing up here.

It's all about that moment when metal that hasn't seen the light of day for generations frees itself from the soil and presents itself to me.

Hi  Bucaramanga66

First I'd like to welcome you to the forum. GD has given you great advice, but by the same token you should get a machine that you feel comfortable with (Money) Ho and have a great retirement you could not have chosen a better hobby.

All the best
Xavier
