Does anyone know if there is proof of a possible heath risk from the typical EMF that is transmitted from a PI metal detector?

I consider to install a coil on the heel of a boot and it will transmit approximately 36W (3Amp x 12Volt) pulses at 30Hz

What do you expect by putting the coil on the Boots?

I've worked in the communications field for years and know as a fact Micro wave can be detrimental to ones health.  Even lower levels like a half Watt.

High power EMP can do bad bad things to you.

At this point in life, I have too many other things to worry about! LOL

I Don't see what your talking about as a Threat. LOL!

Go For it.

I want to be able to detect as I walk. Will be a +/- 10cm coil so detection depth will be in the order of 15cm only ... but then again many steps X 15cm detection = a lot of soil volume scanned

Had a look at the website you referred to. Also looks safe to me.

So I'am going to try it. Will keep an eye open for smoke coming from the boot  Shocked

I don't think a coil is going to do so well very long being stepped on all day long.   LOL

The best detector for walking is something much safer. Your eyes.

It's all about that moment when metal that hasn't seen the light of day for generations frees itself from the soil and presents itself to me.

hello , the type of footware mounted detector you are describing has allready been invented , mass produced and marketed , don't want to rain on your idea , its a good one , and been done which proves its a good idea.

the main point is , if "they" that made it thought it was harmfull to health , then it would never have been passed and gone into production.

good luck with your detecting !!!

but small shoe coil size will restrict your depth ,also limited surface area coverage , and your going to look realy funny on the beach sweeping your feet left to right in an arc every foot step !!!

monty pythons ministry of funny walks may litigate for copyright infringement !!
