Sharaf, we need a lot more detail before anyone can help you. What kind of machine is it? Did you build it or buy it? The text alone looks like a tuning procedure from a project but that's all I can tell you without more information.

It's all about that moment when metal that hasn't seen the light of day for generations frees itself from the soil and presents itself to me.

ya you are right, it's a part of aproject but it is very simple to understand except these sudden notes , they arenot related to any thing within the whole project so i didnot understand it well, soon i'll try to summarize the project to give more details.

Is this a 2 box deepseeker type of detector?
That's what it looks like to me.......
I think that's referring to the general setting up of the orientation of the coils when constructing.
("Null" is referring to the point when setting up, that the audio signal from the reciever goes "silent")

Of course....... I might be wrong........

O.K.......... I got it now.
It IS a "2 box" but like a "mini" version.....
This one here in fact...

What I said holds true then.... move the coil around on the "End Cap" until you get the best "null"

Another thought....
Use the best grade components you can get hold of ..... stuff with good tolerances.
Otherwise it's likely it'll "drift" somewhat...

Hi Sharaf,
No, you don't need a scope.
Just follow the notes.
All you need to do is move the transmit or recieve coil around and adjust the reciever gain (pot) until you get a "sharp" null at the highest point possible with reciever gain.
Here's a picture showing how the coils are positioned.
Oh...... and do it WELL away from any metal when you set them up!

Actually, I rather like this little circuit, it's so easy I might make one just for fun and see what improvements I can make! - will let you know!
