Hi,

My Sovereign is a great machine and I would like to reward it for its services with one or two new coils. But I think I spent too much money in my detectors and I would like to build the coils. I have been thinking of a small one for trash areas and of a very large one. Trouble is I do not know and cannot find the specifications of BBS coils (I do not want to open thus destroy a WOT coil...) and I am afraid that they could be far more complex than the simple ones I already wired for the basic, very simplified detectors I built.

So could anyone provide me with information such as:
- the circuitry used inside Minelab BBS coils
- the coil structure and characteristics that could support BBS  - I have no idea, and this is not in my EM books  Undecided

Or did someone on this great forum already build a BBS (or FBS) coil ?

Thank you very much for your answer (any related information will be appreciated !) that could also be useful for Excalibur users.  Wink

regards,

Joe chip

PS: Should this topic already exist, I would be sorry - I could not find it.

Jeff, as far as I know, this fellow does both mods and repairs.

It's all about that moment when metal that hasn't seen the light of day for generations frees itself from the soil and presents itself to me.

Hi Jeff,
thanks for the useful information.
I found the schematics, I now have to analyze them ! (I don't know why I did not see them before, I should stop drinking :-) )
I will have to be careful, I know the Sovereign XS does not like unusual use conditions.
I hope you can have yours fixed. Great machine indeed !
regards, Joe.
