If you peel off the b you may be able to read the designator on top the chip, google the number and look for a similar chip on digikey. good luck

This is the closest schematic I can find, however Im not sure if your is a G or not. Both 16 pin ics appear to be CD4538.

After a closer look his ic is a 14 pin dip not a 16 like the cd4538. I looked but can not seem to find a schematic for his machine. It will probably take a designer reverse engineering the board to figure out what it was, that is a bit beyond my skill level at this point. Good luck, since your machine is european you may be able to find a schematic on a site in another language.

A lot of obsolete things can still be bought, mate. I trust a substitute more than I do a tube of chips found in a basement or garage somewhere. Your mileage may vary, of course.
