Go Up Go Down

I have lots of NE555 timers but no ICL7660 for my SurfP.I. project. I am thinking of using 555 pump charge circuit along with 7805 and 7905 to generate my + and - 5Volts for the power supply. Can anyone tell me if this is a good idea or is the 7660 a must. I have seen other p.i. detectors using a 555 pump charge circuit for the power supply. What's so darn special about the 7660 anyway, except for maybe a few less supporting components.

There NOT that hard to find.  The More you Deviate from the Original the More Problems you are going to have.  They Used that to keep the detected signal from Flashing around.   Just us it.
