I've read that VLF would be a little better than the PI in discrimination somewhere.. here:

I've been scouring the interwebs.

How would one go about increasing discrimination in a circuit without throwing off the balance of the rest of the electronics in ratio? in particular i'm looking at the Lobo VLF Final Eugene has uploaded. I see that it is final.. but just out of curiosity is it possible to increase discrimination ability w/o losing sensitivity in the schematics?

Thanks in advance, again! Learning so much here. I still think it's cool there's a dowsing thread.. haha.

What do you want to Discriminate out that it can't already do?

There's a wide variety of magnetite, hematite, micca and other minerals as well as some pebbles that are actually attracted to my Neod-magnet! No lie! A piece of semi-translucent "species" of pebble is attracted to it. Obviously has magnetite or hematite in with it's matrix. The magnet is probably capable of lifting 70 lbs. though.. go figure.

Getting off track. Maybe i'm just too paranoid that the detector will pass over some nuggets that has too much nickel/mineralization in the soil. I think I'm seeing nickel (could be shiny Formica in there though too) in the black sand concentrates i have. Could be silver, I don't know. The thing is that with each pan I go through I get about a sizeable amount of black sand at the bottom. Still haven't gotten to the parts in this forum where it discusses discrimination between black sand and gold.. there's a lot of it too sitting in the kitchen.

I'm over-thinking and over-worrying aren't I?  Shocked
